How to store potatoes

You have harvested the potatoes, now how do you store them?

Go down to the local feed store, buy a few bushel baskets and some hay. Sometimes feed stores will sell a bag of hay instead of a full bail.

Put a layer of hay at the bottom of the bushel, layer of potatoes, layer of hay, layer of potatoes, layer of hay,,, until the bushel is full.

Planting fig trees

My wife, nephew, nephews wife, their son and my grandkids planted three fig trees.

The trees were bought at Lowes here in Jasper Texas. One of the trees was wilted so we got it for 1/2 price.

Around each tree we spread a bag of cow manure / compost mixture that was also bought from Lowes. One fig tree was a Kadota fig, the other two trees are Brown Turkey fog trees.

Now it is just a matter of keeping the trees watered until they get established.
