So Called Preppers Are Going To Starve

Something that interest me is how gun review channels on youtube can been seen as prepping channels.

Stockpiling guns and ammo is one small microscopic part of prepping.

Any true prepping plan must include renewable food sources.

Thrunite Archer 2A Flashlight Review

Doing a review of the Thrunite Archer 2A flashlight.

Brightest setting is supposed to be 500 lumens.

Everready batteries could not sustain the brightest setting, I had to use lithium.

Seems like Thrunite is trying to over reach what a two AA flashlight can do.

Fig Tree Organic Fertilizer Experiment

For some reason my fig trees just are not growing. I suspect it is from the sandy soil so I need to add nutrients.

Rather than mulching around the tree, I am going to mix up some organic liquid fertilizer.

The fig trees are in the chicken yard and they would just spread any mulch.

In a month or so I will make another video on how the tree is doing.

Travtac Oynx Concealed Carry Bag Review

Review of the Travtac Oynx slingpack that has plenty of concealed carry. Overall, I am enjoying the pack a great deal. I love that the shoulder strap is in the middle and can be carried on the right or left shoulder. I also love that the side strap is not fixed and can be adjusted.

The webbing on the sides allows for the attachment of canteens and other MOLLE gear.  For a dayhike I attached two MOLLE canteen pouches.  One for a canteen and the other for a dump bag.

Heavy equipment to clear debris

Over the past few months I have been working on clearing small trees and other brush to fence in a few acres. Thankfully I was able to bring in some heavy equipment front end loader to move the heavy limbs and brush. A day and a half was spoiled because of the rain, but otherwise we got a lot done. Lot more left to do, but hopefully will be running fence this summer.

Germinating Decade Old Seeds

When I made a video about stockpiling seeds, there were some comments about how savings seeds in the freezer would not work. I decided to test it out myself.

I took some seeds out that were 10 years old and been kept in the freezer. Using my own process, I was able to get the seeds to germinate.

So yes, preppers can save seeds in the freezer for a long time.

Setting Up Deer Stand

Deer stand was crushed by a falling limb, so it was replaced with a spare porta-potty.

Pieces of the wooden frame had to be replaced with new pressure treated lumber. Overall, we are ready for next deer season.
