Back around 2001, 2002 I was visiting a video game site. I changed
jobs, moved, and during all of that I stopped visiting the site for a
couple of years.
About 3 or 4 years ago I went back to the site (2008), only to find out the name had expired.
I bought the domain name as fast as I could.
After I bought the domain name I started looking for backlinks, and through archive.org.
Come to find out, a couple of college guys had opened the site all the
way back in 1999. They kept it alive from 1999 to around 2004, when
they lost interest in the game and let the domain name expire.
One of parked domain companies bought the name, and parked it for around 3 years.
I bought the name in something like 2008, after the parking company let the name expire.
When I installed wordpress, the site recovered its decade old ranking in
a matter of days. Looking through google webmaster tools I found links
that were almost decade old that the college kids had posted back in
1999, 2000, and 2001.
How would I have know in 2008 that the domain name had been used before?
Unless I did some research, or visited the site before.
If you go to godaddy or namecheap and buy a domain name, does not mean it has not been used before.

Dream last night
Had a bad dream last night. I got lost while driving a truck to a welding shop, stopped at a warehouse to ask for directions.
One of the people working in the warehouse recognized me, as we worked together between 1986 and 1987.
In real life, the guy who recognized me and I really did work together.
While we were working at the whop between 1986 and 1987 the company had gotten low on work, so some of the welders were laid off.
The foreman of the shop happened to be my ex-wifes grandfather (my wife and I were married at the time).
Here it was 26 years later and the guy wanted to fight me for something I did not even do, and something that happened 26 years ago.
Why would I dream about something like that?
Something that might have brought this dream on, around 1993 I went to work for a welding company in Beaumont Texas. The supervisor was one of the people that had been laid off around 1987. Here we were 6 years later and he was still pissed off about it.
I did not have anything to do with him being laid off, the company got low on work, and that is just the way things are.

November - December 2012 camping trip
For the past three years a buddy of mine and I have taken a camping trip on the Angelina river close to Jasper Texas.
Last year two of my sons went on the trip, but I dont know if they are going this year.
As the trip gets closer, its time to start getting the gear ready, boat, alice pack, sleeping bag, tent, fishing poles, maybe a shotgun to do some squirrel hunting,,,.
Hopefully the weather will be nice. I do not mind the cold weather, it the rain I am worried about.

Its November 2012 already
It seems like only a few days ago we were ringing in 2012, and now we are about to ring in 2013.
Where has the time gone?
As I get older, the time flies by faster and faster. My kids are almost grown, my oldest is 26 years old, while my youngest is 16 and a half. Where has the time gone?
The 1980s feel like only yesterday, but then again they feel like a lifetime ago.
So much has changed in the past 30 years. The late 1970s and the early 1980s seem like a whole other world.
I wonder how I will feel when I reach my mom and dads age? What will things be like when I am 60 years old?

What is going on with google results? Over the past few weeks I have posted some indepth articles on my survivalboards blog. But for some reason link sites that contain no actual content are outranking the articles?

Is google back to giving pages that have the most links the highest ranking?
I thought google was supposed to phase out spam link sites that have no real content?
